Dedicated Servers

Dedicated servers are more flexible than shared hosting because the owner of the server has complete control of what is on the server, operating systems and computer hardware. They can offer a bigger return on investment and offers less overhead once the system is purchased.

Dedicated servers are often housed in rooms called data centers and are coupled with multiple hardware devices, continuous power supply and a network. There are no industry standards for servers, so the compatibility is directly related to the computers and programs that will be accessing the server, but many are UNIX and Linux based coding which is becoming more popular than Windows operating systems.

Dedicated servers use extreme security precautions to protect data and other computers from virus’s, hackers, Trojan horses, crashers and spammers. They are also limited to the size of the data room, a shared server finds extra storage space whenever it is needed.
